Recently, a Lakeview student's father was in an accident. In light of these circumstances, Mrs. Boggs' homeroom class wanted to demonstrate their support for the Hummitch family. April Boggs reached out to the Lakeview PTO and together they decided to host a bake sale during the LV/EW football game. With Edgewood's help – Finley's older siblings' alma mater – the goal was to raise at least $500 for the family.
Mrs. Boggs requested that each baked good be packaged in a similar manner – plates of six cookies, six brownies, or six treats in a ziplock bag to keep things streamlined. Each bag was sold for $5.
The bake sale took place at the concession stand in Fribley Field, and thanks to the generosity of our community, they sold out of baked goods and raised $900 for the Hummitch family.
Lauren Roley and Brooklyn Whalen teamed up with June Nightingale to work a bake sale fundraiser for the Hummitch family. The Lakeview vs. Edgewood game was the perfect venue to reach out to the community that the Hummitch family had impacted in such a positive way.
Mrs. Boggs added, "Thank you to everyone who stepped up and showed the Hummitch family how Tigers take care of one another." #ExperienceWCS #ExperienceLakeview #LakeviewCares
