Warsaw Community Schools is celebrating seven years of a committed partnership with Zimmer Biomet and the Zimmer Biomet Foundation through an elementary robotics showcase of learning for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Zimmer Biomet is a global medical technology leader with a comprehensive portfolio designed to maximize mobility and improve health. Zimmer Biomet seamlessly transforms the patient experience through our innovative products and suite of integrated digital and robotic technologies that leverage data, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
The Elementary Robotics Showcase was held during the week of 3/28-4/1. For this year’s challenge, students were asked to engineer a robot capable of climbing up an incline of 40 degrees, 45 degrees, and 50 degrees. They had to balance weight distribution, torque, speed, and overall length to achieve their fastest times. Students were also interviewed by Zimmer Biomet volunteers who asked them questions about the designs and performance of their robots.
This 7th annual showcase continues to stretch WCS offerings of STEM education across all of Warsaw Community Schools. Through generous grants and hardworking volunteers from Zimmer Biomet and the Zimmer Biomet Foundation, Warsaw Community Schools continues to provide and showcase amazing engineering and programming skills at all elementary schools. The donation from the Zimmer Biomet Foundation allowed the eight elementary schools to purchase t-shirts, supplies, and Lego Spike Prime robots for programming and engineering.
WCS is grateful for the ongoing support of Zimmer Biomet and the Zimmer Biomet Foundation.
