🌟 Edgewood recently had two incredible days of professional development focused on revamping and expanding their STEM Project-Based Learning (PBL) units. 💡✨ Our dedicated educators gathered to collaborate and explore innovative teaching strategies and their collaborative spirit was truly impressive! There was an abundance of work, meaningful discussions and deep understanding throughout the workshop. We witnessed firsthand the commitment and enthusiasm of our amazing team of educators. Moving forward, Edgewood's goal is to continue branching out with cross-curricular STEM units that incorporate real-world problem-solving, employability skills, literacy and hands-on learning experiences. They are committed to fostering higher levels of depth and knowledge in our students! 🎉 We're thrilled to announce that two talented Edgewood Middle School students, Owen Aukeman (7th grade) and Kevin Gough (8th grade), represented WCS at the National History Day national contest. 🏆 Held at the University of Maryland last week, this prestigious event drew over 2,600 students from across the US and international schools. Owen Aukeman showcased his award-winning website, "The First Modern Battleship," which secured first place in the state competition back in April. Meanwhile, Kevin Gough impressed judges in the individual presentation category with his state-winning project, "Wabash Indiana and the Frontier of Electric Lights." Three different football camps are happening NEXT WEEK (Monday, June 26th through Thursday, June 28th) & they're filling up fast! "EARLY REGISTRATION FEES" have been extended through this Friday, June 23rd ($60 per camper).
