Our newcomer ML students (students who have been in the country less than two years) took a trip to Rocksteady Pizza Parlour. We spent several weeks learning food and restaurant vocabulary, how to read and ask questions about a menu, and how to order food in English. This was such a great experience for them! #WarsawInspires

Leesburg 5th graders enjoyed their time at BizTown, as highlighted in the March 19th edition of The Biz Gazette. Featured on the front page is this year's elected mayor of BizTown, Valentino Patlan Luna. #WarsawInspires

Ms. Wonderly's class had a fruitful day of math review by calculating fractions and mixed numbers. We went over juice recipes and solved how many total cups of fruit were used. Once students solved all of the recipes, their completed work was their juice ticket. Then, they could select any concoction of apples, mangos, blueberries or strawberries. We also discussed the process of changing a solid to liquids and the healthy benefits of juicing. #WarsawInspires

After earning 10 points for great behavior, they earned a "Stuffy Sleepover" in the library. Students excitedly dropped off their stuffies on a Thursday, left them overnight for a slumber party, and then picked them up on Friday during their Library special, where they got to introduce their stuffy to the class, and received a "photo album of all the fun things their stuffy's got to do during the sleepover. The beloved stuffies had a chance to read, color, look at the fish, and play with legos! #WarsawInspires

Teachers and staff enjoyed the week by participating in a top secret mission: Undercover Spirit Week! Students came in each day with confused looks and a lot of questions, but the staff played it cool -- "What do you mean? I just really love denim," or "I just didn't have time to change my clothes after my morning workout!" We ended the week decked out for Valentine's day. #WarsawInspires

Last weekend, the Leesburg Drama Club had the opportunity to attend the Wagon Wheel Junior production. It was a great program and the students loved it.
