While nothing was completely normal about this first semester of the 2020-21 school year, Jefferson staff tried their hardest to incorporate innovative ways for students to learn and grow, despite obvious challenges. However, many familiar activities, such as Family Groups, assemblies, field trips, and even the annual book fair, had to be replaced by Google Meets and virtual, less tactile experiences.
Mr. Carter felt passionate about continuing the longstanding tradition of Jefferson's principal reading holiday books to students around the Christmas tree, so he and the grade-level teachers worked hard to find a safe, fun, socially distanced, and as-normal-as-possible solution. And the kiddos, as you can imagine, were enthralled by this in-person, interactive encounter!
It hasn't been perfect, but we've creatively worked together to thrive as a school community. Thank you for entrusting your children to us!
Merry Christmas, Jefferson Spartans! Here's to a great 2021 and an enriching second semester of school!
